Biography

Miguel de Oliveira is an award-winning Portuguese filmmaker. He is a director, producer and screenwriter. Living in New York since 2014, he co-founded the production company MOMI FILMS NY with filmmakers Monica Vilela and Bruno Toré. He directed 6 short films: “Birth Control”, “Simpatia do Limão”, “Bancos”, “502”, “Banho Maria”, “A Fare Ride”. With his films, he was nominated for the Brazilian Cinema Grand Prix and received 6 awards for best film with the Film Simpatia do Limão and the Merit award at the Lucerne Film Festival with the Film Benches. As a screenwriter, in addition to the short films he wrote, he also wrote two feature-length screenplays: “The Flower Man” and “The Estonians”. Miguel works on several projects as a producer and as a production manager, including his latest works the Emmy nominated series “We speak New York” for PBS, the feature films: “Swallow” by Carlo Mirabella-Davis which participated in the Tribeca Film Festival, “Obsidian” by Danny Smight and “Girl Clown” by Crystal Scott.
In 2020 wrote e directed the short film A FARE RIDE in pos production now.
