Biography

Francisca is a Writer & Director of the Short Films, A LETTER TO MY MUM, DESIZAUN(DECISION) and most recently MENSAJEIRU (MESSENGER).
Francisca has worked in the Television Industry for the last 10 years as a Presenter, Reporter and Programming Producer. She also worked as Media Advisor for Timor-Leste Government.
Her last weekly TV program produced is ʻPAGINA DO GOVERNO,ʼ which aired for two years on the RTTL Channel. Francisca has also worked on several short films, EVE, PEGASUS, and LOVE SONG as an Assistant Director.
Francisca received the East Timor President Awards for her film, A Letter to My Mum. She is also the recipient of the Margaret Lawrence Social Justice Scholarship awards for the film Desizaun(Decision), Academy Creative Media Honor Script Awards, Brian Robinson Script Award for her current film, and Best Master of Film and Television (Narrative) Production
for the film Mensajeiru(Messenger).
Her short film has been screened at the International Film Festival. Francisca currently holds a Bachelor Degree in Creative Media from the University of Hawaii at Manoa funded by the East West Center Scholarship.
More recently, the recipient of the Australian Development Scholarship and graduate of the Master in Film and Television at Victorian College of Arts.

Francisca é uma Escritora & Diretora de Curtas-metragens, Letter to my mom, Desizaun (Decisão) e mais recentemente Mensajeiru (Mensageiro).
Durante os últimos 10 anos, Francisca trabalhou na Indústria da Televisão como Apresentadora, Jornalista e Produtora de Programação. Ela também trabalhou como Conselheira para a Comunicação Social para o Governo de Timor-Leste.
O último programa de televisão semanal que produziu foi Página do Governo, que esteve no ar durante dois anos no Canal RTTL. Francisca também trabalhou em várias curtas-metragens, Eve, Pegasus, e Love Song como Diretora Assistente.
Francisca recebeu os Prémios do Presidente de Timor-Leste pelo seu filme, Letter to My Mom. Ela também recebeu prémios da Bolsa de Estudos de Margaret Lawrence Social Justice pelo filme Desizaun (Decisão), Prémios de Menção Honrosa por Argumento da Academia de Comunicação Social Criativa, Prémio de Argumento Brian Robinson pelo seu atual filme, e Melhor Mestre de Produção de Filme e Televisão (Narrativa) pelo filme Mensajeiru (Mensageiro).
A sua curta-metragem foi exibida no Festival Internacional de Cinema. Francisca atualmente possui um Bacharelato em Comunicação Social Criativa da Universidade do Hawaii em Manoa, financiado pela Bolsa de Estudo do East-West Center.
Mais recentemente, recebeu a Bolsa de Estudo de Desenvolvimento Australiana e licenciou-se em Mestre de Filme e Televisão na Victorian College of the Arts.
